The movie begins with these lines with Sushant musing a soothing turn with his guitar. Very rarely do words weave the same meaning for the emotions that are inevitably lined up to come as the 100 minute film unfolds. Dil Bechara is a very poignant, coming of age roller-coaster of a film shot with moving songs(AR Rahman being the composer). Based in Jamsedhpur, several iconic spots do feature in the film- from the Sacred Heart Convent School to Jubilee Park, Hudco dam in Telco to the Kadma-Sonari Link Road and many more. The film is almost a honest and faithful "desi" take on the The Fault in our Stars, novel by John Green(2014).

Heartfelt, sincere, and altogether rather wonderful, An amazing Adaptation. At its heart, this is simply a story about love, pain, tolerance, and honesty told with a perfect dose of each of those things that will leave you behind very few dry eyes in its wake. A beautiful love story that unwinds a bundle of emotions. you are going to love it for the longest of the infinity. Being sushant's last film, its always be an emotional rollercoaster. Also the sequences went on in such a way that it made us more connected with the film considering his demise. The soul and heart of this film is Sshant singh rajput, his aura, his smile, his dance moves, his expressions are amazing

Dil bechara is a Bollywood film starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi in lead roles...This movie marks Sushant's last outing as an actor...I would rather say he didn't act in the movie...He lived the role of Immanuel Rajkumar Junior...His acting was brilliant as usual... Sanjana Sanghi was amazing with her role too...She portrayed the emotions so well that you would cry even if you know it is a movie...Music by AR Rahman was masterclass.... Direction and Screenplay was top knotch...The emotional scenes worked out so well that everybody got themselves connected to it.... Dialogues were like the added essence to the film...The Climax, mainly, would make you cry and laugh at the same time....Must watch,10/10

DIL BECHARA is the love story of terminally ill youngsters. Kizie Basu (Sanjana Sanghi) has shifted from Zambia to Jamshedpur along with her parents (Saswata Chatterjee and Swastika Mukherjee). Her life has turned upside down as she has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. This requires her to wear a pipe around her nose and carry an oxygen cylinder 24x7. One day, in her college, she bumps into Manny (Sushant Singh Rajput). She finds him to be loud and arrogant. But later, she realizes that even he’s suffering from a cancer (osteosarcoma) due to which one of his legs had to be amputated. Yet, he lives life to the fullest and this makes Kizie fond of Manny even more. As they start to spend time with each other, she confesses to him that she loves the 'Main Tumhara' album of a musician named Abhimanyu Veer (Saif Ali Khan). Manny listens to the songs reluctantly but soon becomes a fan. However, he finds the title track incomplete. Kizie agrees and expresses that she wishes to meet him once. Manny realizes how much meeting Abhimanyu Veer will mean to Kizie. Hence, he finds Abhimanyu’s email address and arranges their meeting with him in Paris, where Abhimanyu resides. Kizie’s parents are aghast with her plans to fly in this condition. However, they soon get convinced and Kizie’s mother also decides to join Kizie and Manny in their Paris trip. Manny books the tickets as well but few days before the trip, Kizie’s health deteriorates and she has to be hospitalized. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

this is the best remake I have seen till date... as we all know that this was a official remake of "the fault in the stars". but this version is modified according to Indian taste.. Sushant plays a tamil boy character in this movie..as this is his last movie it was more emotional when watching Dil bechara.. Sanjana sanghi did a great job as she plays a role of a girl suffering with cancer.. especially the music which was composed by Oscar winner Rahman sir is just awesome one word for this movie.."best tribute that Sushant can ever get "

Really an excellent movie that Sushant Singh Rajput acting is out of the box.the smile that we see is unforgettable. Sanjana her debut a blockbuster of her life. her acting was so ease and natural. Though the film starts with the leading lady who's sympathizing the family and friends of someone who left heavenly abode..the people who she had never met before, the actual beginning was when the Superstar Sushant grooves to A.R.Rahman's title track on the podium. Hats of to Sushant for those classic and stylish moves, as he believed to have finished the whole song sequence in a single shot! While you go gaga over his dance steps or attractive and cute smile, his acting would simply blow your mind away. Sanjana, as his love interest, has given a great support to him throughout. She definitely has a great future ahead of her. The Bengali actors who play Kizzi's (Sanjana) parents are unapologetic too! Sushant as Manny (Or is it Mani?..he's a Tamilian in the movie actually) is a perfect choice and thus Mukesh Chabbra, the director is absolutely right as a casting director too! Saif (in a tiny tiny role) is damn good and brings some humor towards the end and Sahil Ved as Manny's best bud is terrific!

After watching the movie I was just wondering why the ending of both his life and movie is exactly same as one another . Didnt thought of this ever in my life ,. Coming to the movie it's an exception of his acting , dialogue and with his co star Sanjana Singh also. The way how he fought against the disease is just is how he was in his life . The movie is well plotted and includes great direction of the director. The locations and the emotional connection to this movie is going to out of this world after we lost ssr . Rip ssr

Oh what a movie, owing to fact that this is a remake, base story taken from a novel which most of us have read, which we know still to me it was amazing. I loved the chemistry between the lead pair, and the song " Tum Na hue" takes it to another level. I could the magic which was built and this song completes it, in a way it was a mesmerizing experience for me. Watching Sushant and inspiring people to enjoy the live to the fullest knowing having no control over future, it's a great message. One word loved it

The story comes from a novel and then is a remake from an American movie, so not much has changed. But surely, it's a story filled by tragedy with glimpses of light hearted comedy. This movie has done justice to its thread. Acting - It's an emotional connect when it comes to the Shining Star Sushant. Wish this was not his last film. Sanjana has been impressive from her Rockstar days. A power start to her career. All other characters have been instrumental in their performances as well, the friend, the father, the mother and even the doctor.

There is no better way to give tribute to a genuinely amazing actor. The film was pretty emotional and touching. Such natural acting from Sushanth and SanjanaSanghi and a brilliant execution from other the cast and crew. The movie indeed had plot holes and rushed up situations but I don't think anyone will notice those stuffs as the movie maintained a emotionally touching storyline and knowing the fact that Sushanth left us made it way more emotional and can't finish the movie without releasing a single drop of tear.

Dil Bechara is Sushant Singh Rajput's swan-song and deserves a viewing that transcends ratings and stars. This will be a cinematic experience more than the validation of critics and commerce. Call it fate or something else that Rajput's last film is based on a tearjerker that left people choked after it ended. Similar thoughts run through the mind while watching Mukesh Chhabra's directorial debut, Dil Bechara, where two people, united by destiny and circumstances, meet and fall in love. The couple has the most unique names we have heard on the celluloid.

Review: ‘Dil Bechara’ is the Hindi film adaptation of John Green’s popular 2012 novel, 'The Fault in Our Stars'. In fact, the book’s Hollywood adaptation with the same name in 2016 met with much critical acclaim.

Its amazing and a must-watch movie. So beautifully driven. Sushant's acting puts life to everything. Sanjana was good too. One can actually relate Sushant's reel and real life in a lot of ways through this film. Superb script and arrangements. Small things just like the beads add to the beauty of the film and the music is just mind-blowing, all songs are melodious and soothing; especially the horizon of saudade takes your breath away. The theme was really appreciable and the dialogues are really calm and composed. I would recommend this movie to everyone.

One of the best romance movies I have ever seen and one of my favorite movies that I have ever seen. I loved the book and I loved the movie even more. The writing, plot, DOP, story, and screenplay were fantastic. Sanjana Sanghi and Susanth Singh Rajput's performances in the film as Kizie and Manny were spectacular. Dil bechara is gorgeous, funny and sad at the same time and it shows true love can be found no matter what. Watching this movie after Susanth sir's demise has hit me so hard. He had done a spectacular job in the movie and it will be one of his finest works. He will be missed so badly. Loved the movie so much.

Kartik posted a review for Dil Bechara (2020) in Movies
Based on ‘The Fault in our Stars’, a best-selling 2012 Novel written by John Green. The movie follows the journey of Kizzie Basu (played by Sanjana) who is struggling in a losing battle with cancer. She wishes to live a normal life where she can do all the normal things that a young person does within her transient life. At one point she says, “Hero banne ke liye popular nahi hona padta, Woh real life mein bhi hote hai”. She also has an urge to meet her favourite song-writer Abhimanyu Veer to ask about the last unfinished song he wrote. Manny, who is a die-hard Rajnikant fan, on the other hand, wants to live an extraordinary life, a life of a ‘hero’ to be remembered. On their quest to fulfill their aims together, they go through a heart-wrenching journey of love and sorrow which can weld tears in one’s eyes while also leaving a broad grin which is as eternal as the protagonists’ spirit to live. The movie finds funny ways of dramatising the process whereby one generation of women squares its frustrations with another – but it adds up to spirited, intelligent, authentically feminist entertainment. What comes across as flaws are some of the dialogues. Also, there has been no emphasis on the character development of Manny.

Dil Bechara is an emotion to everyone out there and specially for Sushant Singh Rajput's fans. This is to all the people who thinks that life is ending as they are getting older day by day rather than they should think that it's a festival which needs to be celebrated with much joy and happiness all around. Sushant's acting speaks up to his volume of showing his art to his excellence and Sanjana has cleanly matched him all through the journey of joy and pain. Other casts were as amazing as it was needed to projectile this piece of art in its way. Mukesh Chhabra shows a lot through his debut direction which must be appreciated. Music of this film is keeping it's track with not as high as perfect and not as low as imperfect. Just precisely beautiful and sweet. Overall it's a soothing film with some duely attached emotions due to our lovingly forever Sushant.

Just fallen in love with this movie because of Sushant's charming acting. The film is its simplicity of story telling. Two terminally ill patients suffering from cancer weave a beautiful love story. Sanjana as Kizie has made her mark. Sahil Vaid as Manny's best friend has looked so real. Saswat Bannerjee as Kizie's father is amazing, daughter and father's bond is beautiful so is Swastika Mukherjee as worried mother of cancer striken daughter. A.R.Rahman sir's music is smooting and melodious. The story is set up in Jamshedpur city in Jharkhand and the story has looked relatable to the place.

This movie is heartfelt in the way it portrays the innocence of love. It proves to us the way we lead our lives to the fullest is very much important rather than worrying about the flaws that we face in our lives. I personally felt more like watching the real kinds of stuff happening on the screen as the acting was also so real and amazing to witness in every scene. Manny loved Kizie Basu from and within when he was so concerned about her that he expressed his deep emotions to her dad in fulfilling her dream of meeting the musician in Paris, FR. It is a dream for every girl to get a guy like Manny who is carefree. They go to Paris and create little and beautiful memories. It's wonderful to see the happy things stay with others about a person though that person isn't alive. That's what life is meant to be. Though this movie is short, it didn't fail to convey to us the real emotions. The emotions of love, the emotions to lead a happy life.

Dil bechara is a pure love story. It gives us goosebumps, makes us cry,but its all worth it. Its the best movie of sushant's career. The last part was very emotional. When I watched the trailer I understood that one of them might die in the movie but I thought that kizie would die maybe but I didn't expect Manny to die.I loved the songs specially that line from "Khulke jeene ka" "Umar ke saal kitne hai gin gin ke kya karna beet jaye geenti me hi warna" I think it really described the truth of life that it doesn't matter how many years you live the thing which matters is how you live your life. I liked the dialogues and specially that one "Janam kab Lena hai aur marna kab hai ye hum decide nhi karte lekin kaise jeena hai ye hum decide karte hai" it made me cry thinking that when he was saying that dialogue who had thought that he would really die. It was a very good film. It takes us to a roller coaster ride. It was very emotional and Love you sushant and miss you sushi.

Ive always been a fan of his movies and he never really disappoints me with his acting skills.. this movie is a celebration of love and zest for life and also most importantly a celebration of Sushant's legacy as an actor and a wonderful human being! kudos to the director Mukesh Chhabra for making this movie so flawlessly. Dil Bechara is a delight to watch. It did have technical flaws here and there, but Manny welcome you and make you a part of their lives in this beautiful story. Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi have played their roles so well that you understand and feel the fear of losing your loved one so deeply. Saswata Chaterjee and Swastika Mukherjee are brilliant actors, they have just outdone their part. Saif Ali Khan's cameo appearance neither helped the story, nor was the performance good. My favourite song from the film's album is 'Main Tumhara' composed by A R Rahman, sung by Hriday Gattani and Jonita Gandhi, beautifully written by Amitabh Bhattacharya conveying the film's essence in simplest of words.

I would have been very angry for the remake of this movie again in a new version but after knowing sushant took the place as the lead actor of the film i waited eagerly for it's release. And trust me it didn't disappoint me at all. In fact, i was very delighted , my heart filled with joy , emotions and tears.
